How Effective Can Disinfectants Get?
Published on Tuesday, 27 April 2010
Commercial disinfectants abound the market. But take note that not all disinfectants are the same. Many of them can also be harmful to you and to your family. Most of them are even harmful to the environment too. Disinfectants differ in terms of the kind of germs it can effectively neutralize. Some are basically designed to kill more intense germs while others are designed to kill milder ones only. There are pros and cons between stronger and weaker disinfectants though. While stronger disinfectants could kill germs, such products would also contain stronger chemicals. They would not only be harmful to germs but to some extent to humans and the environment as well. Disinfectants also differ depending on their percentage of efficiency and the time it takes to take effect. No disinfectant can kill 100% of the germs in any room. The most effective ones would usually only be able to kill 90% of the germs. The effect is not instantaneous. You should give it at least 10 minutes to act and work on the germs. But then to get maximum effects you need to spray and saturate the whole place. Then you would have to rinse and wipe the surfaces too to finish the job.
